Let your Skin Glow During Pregnancy
In a general sense, pregnancy is considered an extraordinary time for women. Bearing life inside them for nine months and caring for and sensing it inside can be a beautiful experience. But all that said, it is also a very strenuous time for a woman. Her body undergoes multiple changes every day, and it isn’t easy to cope.
Skin, the largest organ of our body, also changes, like darkening of the skin, pigmentation around your face, armpits, and genitals, and dryness and itchiness in the skin. You cannot use your usual makeup and skin products without consulting your doctors regarding the chemicals in the products, as chemicals used in the skin can reach your bloodstream and affect the baby. This does not mean you have to stop worrying about skin altogether. You can choose skincare products safe for pregnancy.
Skincare During Pregnancy
- Use sunscreen with an SPF of 15 to 20. It blocks the sun and prevents your skin from further darkening.
- A mild soap that also moisturizes your skin is ideal for washing. Avoid using scrubs every day, and do not indulge in bubble baths during pregnancy.
- Use a good moisturizer throughout the body that hydrates your skin and stays on longer. Take special care for our abdomen area, as the stretching in the second and third trimester leaves stretch marks after delivery, and moisturizer can soften them somewhat.
- Due to changes in the functioning of the liver, the bile juices mix in the bloodstream and can cause itching. Use a broad-spectrum cream on a doctor’s advice to reduce the itching.
Bottom Line
Taking care of yourselves during pregnancy is as essential as taking care of the baby. Stick to the minimal skincare products safe for pregnancy, and estrogen and your blood vessels will take care of your pregnancy glow. Being a beautiful mommy is as essential as being a healthy mommy.
